Madeira Hibiscus Sale

One of the largest European nursery with rare grafted hibiscus plants

Reserve your plants from our nursery in Funchal.

How we grow our plants

Our nursery is in the heart of Funchal on the beautiful flower island of Madeira — also known as the island of eternal spring. We also have a second garden just outside the city. We grow around 75 Rosa Sinensis varieties and roughly 450 different hybrid variations — Europe's largest collection of hybrid hibiscus.

Our own selection

Our own selection

We collect and select our varieties ourselves — single or double bloom, in countless colours. From classic simple Rosa Sinensis to rare hybrids, every plant is chosen for beauty and resilience in our Madeira climate.

Hybrid grafting

Hybrid grafting

Hybrids root only with difficulty, so we graft them onto strong, simple Rosa Sinensis rootstocks — mostly Natal, Psyche or Albo Lactinatus. From rootstock to a sellable plant takes around 10 months of patient work.

Propagation & breeding

Propagation & breeding

Rosa Sinensis is propagated by cuttings in our own mix of seed compost, quality soil, perlite and vermiculite — about 10 months until the plant is ready to ship. New variations are bred from carefully crossed seeds.

How we ship

How we ship

All plants are shipped in 12 cm pots, between 25 and 44 cm tall. We ship to every country of the European Union. Delivery usually takes between 8 and 13 days. Each plant is individually wrapped in cardboard and additionally protected by a sturdy outer box, so it arrives in perfect condition.
