How We Grow Our Plants — Our Own Selection 🌺

How We Grow Our Plants — Our Own Selection 🌺

Every hibiscus we sell starts here, in our nursery in Funchal, Madeira — Europe's largest hybrid hibiscus nursery. We don't resell plants from wholesalers. Every variety in our catalogue is grown, selected and tested by us.

🌱 Our own selection We breed, cross and select our own hibiscus hybrids. Out of hundreds of seedlings each season, only a handful make it into the catalogue — the ones with the most stable colours, the strongest growth and the best resistance to pests.

How We Grow Our Plants — Our Own Selection 🌺 — 1

☀️ Grown in Madeira's climate Madeira's subtropical climate — mild winters, warm summers, Atlantic humidity — is perfect for hibiscus. Plants grow outdoors year-round, building thick stems, deep roots and dense foliage before they ever leave our nursery.

🌿 Real plants, not forced cuttings We never ship fresh, unrooted cuttings. Every plant you receive is fully rooted, hardened off and has flowered at least once with us — so you know exactly what bloom you are getting.

🛡️ Healthy from the start

  • No systemic pesticides — we use beneficial insects for biological pest control
  • Volcanic mineral soil with perfect drainage
  • Slow-release organic fertiliser
  • Each plant is inspected by hand before packing

📦 From our nursery to your door We pack and ship every order ourselves. No middleman, no warehouse — your plant goes directly from the bench it grew on into a carefully padded box, on the next available flight.

That's why our hibiscus arrive strong, settle quickly, and bloom for years 🌺
