Hey friends! 🌟 Now we will discuss all about hibiscus fertilizers! 🌺 Your plants need nutrients, and we're here to spill the tea 🍵.
Hibiscus Needs:
- Balanced Nitrogen (N) for protein synthesis and growth
- Minimal Phosphorus (P) – too much can harm!
- Potassium (K) for growth, flowering, and overall health
Ratio 2:1:3
- Microelements like Magnesium, Iron, and Zinc
Fertilizer Tips:
- Fertilize little and often to avoid overfeeding
- Use a 2:1:3 N-P-K ratio + microelements
- Consider foliar spraying if your plant has weak roots or is stressed. Also foliar fertilizing is a great addition to your rooting hibiscus care!

ROOT FERTILIZING 🌺
For hibiscus, use soluble mineral fertilizers with a 2:1:3 N-P-K ratio plus microelements. Here are some options:
- Granular Fertilizers
If these are hard to find, look for low-phosphorus, high-potassium alternatives.
- Agroleaf Power (15-10-31)
- Valagro Master (15:5:30) with microelements (Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn) in chelated solution
- Liquid Fertilizers
Easier to use, but we haven't found as perfect matches for hibiscus as granular formulas. You can use:
You can use them with each watering 😊.
- Bio Grow from BioBizz (4:3:6)
- Formulex (2.0:0.9:3.3)
- Liquid Humus Fertilizer
To help your plants get stronger, healthier, and larger, use organic liquid humus alongside your main fertilizer. This provides plenty of microelements and enriches the soil. We prefer humus for indoor hibiscus and horse manure extract for outdoor plants.
Organic Humus Options:
- Ridella - Humus
- Siro - Humus
- Compo - Humus
Or search "liquid humus" for available in your country options.
- Microelements (optional)
Some fertilizers already contain these, but Valagro EDTA MIX is a great addition. It has chelated micronutrients (iron, zinc, copper, etc.) that plants absorb up to 90% of (vs 30-40% for conventional mineral salts). Apply to leaves or soil 🍃.
For healthy growth, soil environment, and immune boost:
- Additional Support (optional)
Any fertilizers with Algae or Aloe Vera work too. Apply to leaves or soil.
- Alg-a-mix from BioBizz
- Acti-Vera from BioBizz
- Valagro Radifarm — must-have product 😊, as we already mentioned.
Valagro Radifarm fertilizer stimulates root growth, making plants strong and healthy. Roots are growing miraculously after applying it. Use 1–2 ml/L as a preventative dose, or after repotting for a growth boost 🌱. Use 2.5–5 ml/L if you have roots problems.
FOLIAR FERTILIZING 🌱
Hibiscus absorb nutrients quickly through their leaves, making foliar feeding a great way to:
- Treat and prevent chlorosis
- Reduce plant stress
- Provide extra moisture (which hibiscus love 😊)
Spray micro-doses of the mentioned fertilizers 1–2 times a week, alternating as needed.
NOTE! No need to buy everything – pick 2–3 products and mix it up! The essentials are listed first.
