WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN YOU ORDER A HIBISCUS PLANT 🌺

In this last post, we've collected all the IMPORTANT INFORMATION and PRACTICAL TIPS on what to do when you RECEIVE your hibiscus 🌿

This will be especially useful for BEGINNERS, but not only them — so don't forget to SAVE this post 📌 if you're planning to order our plants!

Worried hibiscus are HARD to care for? 🙈 Don't be! They are not difficult — just a little DRAMATIC after shipping 😄

🌿 HOW TO CARE AFTER DELIVERY

1. 1🔍 INSPECTION & INITIAL TREATMENT

Your plant has experienced SHIPPING STRESS — so start gently.

• YELLOW or DROOPY leaves + DRY soil → WATER MODERATELY (room temperature, soak evenly but don't overdo it)
• WET soil but DROOPING leaves → add HUMIDITY (transparent plastic bag over the plant, not touching leaves)
• Plant looks GOOD → light watering and continue

1. 1☀️ ADAPTATION TO LIGHT

Your hibiscus traveled in DARKNESS 😅

• First days → BRIGHT, WARM place with INDIRECT LIGHT
• After a few days → slowly increase SUNLIGHT
• If you notice PESTS → treat immediately
• If not → still keep in QUARANTINE

1. 1🚫 QUARANTINE – WHY IT MATTERS

Even healthy-looking plants can carry HIDDEN PESTS 🐛

• Keep your new plant SEPARATE for at least 1 MONTH
• This protects your whole collection

1. 1🛠️ TREATMENT

After about 1–2 WEEKS, when NEW LEAVES appear:

• Start REGULAR pest and disease treatments
• Repeat at least 3 TIMES before placing near other plants

1. 1🪴 REPOTTING – IMPORTANT DETAILS

This is where many plant lovers act too FAST 😄

• Ideally WAIT 1–2 MONTHS after receiving
• If soil dries VERY FAST → repot after about 2 weeks
• Always wait for ACTIVE GROWTH (new leaves = good sign)

• If roots have FILLED the pot
• If water runs through too quickly
• If plant becomes UNSTABLE

✔️ Choose a pot only 2–3 cm LARGER ✔️ Keep ROOT BALL as intact as possible ✔️ Gently loosen only outer circling roots ✔️ Use fresh, LIGHT and AIRY soil ✔️ Do NOT plant deeper than before

• WATER LIGHTLY (roots need oxygen too!)
• Place in BRIGHT, INDIRECT LIGHT
• NO fertilizer for 1–2 weeks
• Some leaf drop = NORMAL (yes, more drama 😄)

❌ Too big pot = RISK of ROOT ROT ❌ Too early repotting = EXTRA STRESS ✔️ Slightly tight pot is SAFER than oversized

1. 1🌱 SOIL

Hibiscus need LIGHT, FLUFFY, WELL-DRAINED soil.

❌ Never use garden soil or previously used soil

✔️ Use neutral pH soil (5.5–7.0) ✔️ Add PERLITE or VERMICULITE (1:0.5 ratio)

Start feeding after 2–3 WEEKS, when the plant enters ACTIVE GROWTH.

Hibiscus LOVE LIGHT and WARMTH ☀️

• Ideal range: 15°C to 36°C
• Place on the BRIGHTEST windowsill
• Avoid DRAFTS
• In low light seasons → use a GROW LIGHT

1. 1💧 WATERING

This is the MOST IMPORTANT and most COMMON mistake 😄

Hibiscus like MOIST soil… but NOT WET soil

✔️ Water regularly and moderately ✔️ Always check pot weight before watering ✔️ Top layer slightly dry = time to water

🌸 WHEN WILL IT BLOOM?

• Bought in SPRING → blooms in SUMMER or AUTUMN
• Under GROW LIGHT → buds appear FAST, blooms in months
• Winter windowsill → blooms in SPRING/SUMMER

🔄 HOW OFTEN DOES IT BLOOM?

With proper care → almost YEAR-ROUND 🌺

Flowers last only 1–3 DAYS. But that's the MAGIC ✨ → One fades, another bud is already COMING

📏 FLOWER SIZE

Average: 14–15 cm Some varieties → up to 22–25 cm 🌺

🌱 GROWING FROM SEED

YES, but it's always a SURPRISE 🎁

Seeds combine BOTH PARENTS → You may get a UNIQUE variety… or a simple one

⏳ Blooming usually starts in YEAR 2–3 So yes… PATIENCE is required 😄

💔 HOW TO SAVE A DAMAGED PLANT

If your plant suffered during shipping:

1. 1REMOVE damaged leaves
2. 2CREATE HUMIDITY (plastic cover)
3. 3KEEP in warm, BRIGHT place (no direct sun)
4. 4WATER CAREFULLY (roots may be weak)
5. 5Use ROOT SUPPORT products if possible
6. 6Maintain humidity and MONITOR progress
7. 7DO NOT REPOT for a few months
